Gloucester Coal Ltd "GCL" is an Australian Stock Exchange (ASX) listed coal producer with approximately 2,400 shareholders. GCL remains one of the truly independent publicly listed Australian Stock Exchange coal mining companies. The strong coal market, combined with the recognition of the Company's low risk Gloucester Basin coking and thermal coal operations has resulted in significant market support.

Coking and thermal coals from the Stratford Joint Venture have enjoyed a healthy market reputation. During the past two years GCL have established a diverse and robust customer base spanning the Japanese metallurgical coking market to the domestic thermal market.

Mr Lord was appointed Chief Executive Officer of Gloucester Coal in August 2007 and Managing Director in October 2007.

Prior to his appointment at Gloucester Coal, Mr Lord worked in the pulp and paper industry for 19 years, most recently as Executive Vice President responsible for the Australasian operations of Norwegian-based Norske Skog.

Mr Lord has also worked in a variety of senior international marketing and sales roles including head of marketing and sales roles at Norske Skog Australasia, Fletcher Challenge Paper Australasia and Tasman Pulp and Paper in New Zealand. He has also worked in corporate planning in the computer services industry and was for four years a high school science teacher both in New Zealand and the United Kingdom.

Mr Lord has held a variety of Board positions (both in Australia and overseas) including until recently Chairman of A3P (the Australian Plantation Products and Paper Industry Council).

Mr Hogendijk has extensive senior management experience having previously been Chief Financial Officer, Suncorp Metway Ltd (1997–2000), Commonwealth Bank of Australia Limited (1991–1997) and John Fairfax Group (1989–1991).   Mr Hogendijk has also held senior positions in the coal industry with Austen and Butta Limited (Finance Director 1979-1989) and  Shell Coal London (  Project Manager 1985-1987)  He is currently a director of and Magellan Flagship Fund Limited and Australian Worldwide Exploration Limited. 

Mr Hogendijk held the following directorships in the previous three years:  Magnesium International Limited (November 2001 to March 2006), The Hills Motorway Limited from July 2004 to May 2005 and Aditya Birla Minerals Limited (2005-2007).

Chairman of the Remuneration Committee and member of the Audit Committee. Director and Chairman since August 2004.

Mr Levy is Chairman of D’Aguilar Gold Limited and Chief Executive Officer of AusNico Pty Limited and was formerly Chief Executive Officer of Allegiance Mining NL.

He has had 30 years experience in mining geology and mineral exploration including 12 years with Western Mining Corporation Limited and 11 years in mining business development positions. Mr Levy has also worked in development roles for mining exploration companies Pancontinental Mining Limited and Gympie Gold Limited.

Mr Levy has been Federal President of the Australian Institute of Geoscientists and was a member of the Joint Ore Reserves Committee (JORC) for 10 years including four years as Vice Chairman.

Chairman of the Audit Committee and member of the Remuneration and Risk Committees.

Director since April 2004.

Dr Bryan has worked for 36 years as a consulting geologist, principally involved with coal exploration and coal mining companies in New South Wales and Queensland. His experience in coal exploration also extends to Indonesia, New Zealand, Canada, Thailand and Antarctica. His expertise in coal exploration and resource evaluation is derived from experience gained over many years at numerous coal mines and coal deposits, both open cut and underground.

Chairman of the Risk Committee and member of the Audit and Corporate Governance Committees.

Director since April 2005.

Mr Scott is an experienced senior financial executive with strong international experience and knowledge of a range of industries including energy, forests, paper, commercial property and retail shopping centres. His background also includes financial leadership on a number of large scale acquisitions and divestments and experience in merger integration.

Previously Mr Scott was in a divisional CFO role for Norske Skog Australasia. Prior to that Mr Scott held senior positions with the Norske Skog Group in Norway, where he had global responsibilities for accounting, tax and finance.

Mr Colliss has over 35 years in the resources industry, primarily in senior management roles associated with Project Development from conceptual studies through to construction and operation over a variety of commodities, both in Australia and internationally. He joined GCL to develop the Duralie Project. Prior General Management positions include Birtley Engineering (Taylor Woodrow); Clough Engineering; Clough Mining Services and Noyes Engineering.
