Directors
Chairman and Independent Non-Executive Director
Mr James MacKenzie has been Chairman of the Mirvac Group Board since November 2005. Mr MacKenzie led the transformation of the Victorian Government's Personal Injury Schemes as Chairman of the TAC and Victorian WorkCover Authority from 2000-2007. Previously, he held senior executive positions with ANZ Banking Group, Norwich Union and Standard Chartered Bank. He is also Chairman of Pacific Brands Limited and a Director of Melco Crown Entertainment Limited and was a director of Hunter-based Donaldson Coal. Mr MacKenzie is a Chartered Accountant and was a Partner in both the Melbourne and Hong Kong offices of an international accounting firm now part of Deloitte. In 2003 he was awarded the Centenary Medal for services to public administration.
Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer

Mr Brendan McPherson was previously the Senior Vice President - Asset Development & Operations of Noble Resources Australia Pty Ltd. Mr McPherson was also Chief Executive Officer and Director of Donaldson Coal, and a Director of the Newcastle Coal Infrastructure Group. As CEO of Donaldson Coal, Mr McPherson has overseen the approval and development of three mines within the Donaldson Mining Complex. Prior to joining Donaldson Coal in 1999, Mr McPherson was the Chief Finance Officer of Multinet Gas, and Ikon Energy, Mr McPherson has also worked with the Gas & Fuel Corporation of Victoria, the State Bank of Victoria and the Electricity Trust of South Australia. Mr McPherson holds a Bachelor of Economics degree from Adelaide University, and completed the Program for Management Development at the Harvard Business School in 1996.
Independent Non-Executive Director

Mr Greg Fletcher has been a Chartered Accountant for 30 years including 16 years as a Senior Partner at Deloitte specialising in external audit, internal audit and risk management. Following his retirement from Deloitte, Mr Fletcher was appointed to the Board of Railcorp in April 2009 and currently serves on the Panel of Audit and Risk Committee Independent Chairs and Members for NSW public sector entities. Mr Fletcher has significant experience with listed Australian companies having been responsible for providing external audit and internal audit services to some of Australia's largest listed companies with operations both in Australia and globally.
Independent Non-Executive Director

Mr Denis Gately is a corporate and commercial lawyer with more than 30 years' experience working in the resources (minerals, oil and gas) and energy sectors. His experience includes both transactional (M&A, capital markets) and operational aspects of mineral exploration and production. He has extensive experience in the coal sector in Queensland and New South Wales, both in the sale and purchase of assets and businesses, and in all aspects of operations including development, transport and sales. Denis joined Minter Ellison in 1985 and was a partner from 1987 to 2010. He was head of the firm's national energy and resources group for four years, a member of its national board for nine years and managing partner of its Brisbane office for six years. He is a former director, national president and now an honorary life member of AMPLA Ltd (the Australian Resources and Energy Law association). He is also a director and chairman of Alligator Energy Ltd, an ASX listed company engaged in uranium exploration.
Non-Executive Director

Mr William Randall is Noble Group Head of Energy Coal & Carbon Complex. Mr. Randall holds a Bachelor degree in Business, major in International Marketing. He started his career at Noble in Australia, transferring to Asia in 1999 where he established Noble's coal operations, mining and supply chain management businesses. Following his appointment as Director Noble Energy Inc in 2001, Mr. Randall continued to build the global coal and coke marketing network and asset pipeline. He was appointed global head of Coal & Coke in 2006 and became a member of the Noble Group Executive Board in 2008.
Independent Non-Executive Director
Dr Beeby joined the Board of Gloucester Coal as an Independent Non-Executive Director on 6 November 2011.
Dr Beeby is the CEO of WestSide Corporation a Queensland based coal seam gas explorer and producer. Previously, she was General Manager, Strategic Planning and Projects at Peabody Pacific, where she was closely involved in the development and expansion of Peabody's mining operations in Australia.
Dr Beeby is also a Director of Queensland Electricity Transmission Corporation Ltd (Powerlink).
Dr Beeby has a Graduate Diploma and an MBA in Technology Management from Deakin University as well as a First Class Honours Bachelors degree in Science and a Doctorate in Physical Chemistry from the University of Sydney. She has been member of Australian Institute of Company Directors since 2003 and graduated from the Company Directors course in 2009.
Company secretary
Hemang Shah was been appointed Legal Counsel and Company Secretary for Gloucester Coal on 25 July 2011.
Hemang was previously with Minter Ellison where he spent 6 years in the Mergers and Acquisitions group. As a Senior Associate, Hemang gained extensive experience in the energy and resources sector and completing a number of transactions in the resources area.
Executives
Deputy Chief Executive Officer
Mr Tim Crossley is a respected mining executive with strong cross-commodity experience in metallurgical coal, manganese and iron ore. He is a former President and Chief Operating Officer of BHP Billiton Iron Ore Western Australia, and General Manager and Director of Groote Eylandt Mining Company, Northern Territory. Most recently he was Executive General Manager Carbon Steel Materials and Coal at Hancock Prospecting Pty Ltd. Mr Crossley has established relationships with all major global steel mills having worked with them across various joint venture situations. He commenced his professional career as an environmental scientist before moving into mine operations in 1996 with BHP Coal in Queensland.
Chief Financial Officer
Chris Woodward joined Gloucester Coal as Chief Financial Officer on 21 November 2011.
Chris was previously the Chief Financial Officer and Finance Director of Hastie Group where he held the position for 7 years having overall responsibility for financial and risk management. During his time at Hastie Group the company grew to a turnover of $1.8 billion through a combination of organic and acquisitive growth.
Prior to his role at Hastie Group, Chris was Finance Director at ALSTOM Australia/New Zealand.
