Community Support Program

Gloucester Coal is committed to making a positive contribution in the areas in which it operates.
To help facilitate this commitment, GCL has established the Community Support Program to provide assistance to local initiatives within the Lower Hunter and the Gloucester Basin.

The aim of the Community Support Program is to help benefit a wider range of community needs such as education, environment, health, infrastructure projects, arts, leisure and research.

How the program works

The Community Support Program has an allocation of funding which is separate to current council contributions or Environment and Welfare Trusts.

Formal applications are called for twice a year by Gloucester Coal and local community groups are invited to submit their applications.

A group consisting of GCL employees and selected community representatives will assess applications and provide independent advice on allocation of funds. This committee will meet twice a year to consider applications from community organisations for financial assistance.
